Chateau Gombaude-Guillot

A rare bird in the Pomerol landscape, Château Gombaude-Guillot with its low intervention approach is opening a new path in the appellation. Claire Laval converted to organic in the early 80s, and it is now her son Olivier Techer who is bringing the estate to the next level, with the biodynamic certification, minimal use of S02 during vinification, and experimenting with different vessels for fermentations and ageing. The wines are classic, expressive and very much terroir driven, beautiful in their youth but with an incredible ageing potential.
