Marko Fon

Very small, family-run estate of just a few hectares scattered across the Kras (Carso) plateau, focusing on Malvazija and Vitovska grown on thin, red limestone soils. Fon farms organically, with manual work in the vineyard and low-intervention winemaking in neutral vessels, plus some older barriques for select cuvées. The wines are light-to-medium-bodied, with crisp acidity, saline minerality and a quietly assertive sense of place rather than overt oak or oxidative influence.

Malvazija

Salty and fruity, with citrus, nectarine, herbs, hay, fresh flowers and candied orange peel. It’s light on its feet, with very fine tannin and medium acidity. It has short skin contact, as is traditional in the region, then ages on fine lees in small neutral containers. Worth opening early or decanting.

Vitovska

harvested in the second half of October; and produced With minimal intervention and deep respect for the terroir, this is a wine that speaks directly of the limestone and Adriatic sea breezes. Marko’s rock-carved cellar and meticulous vineyard work ensure a level of authenticity that is second to none.a touch of roundness, and a charge of acidity.
