Ampeleia
Located in upper Maremma on the 'Colline Metallifere' (Metalliferous Hills), Ampeleia is a unique project for the area aimed to create wines that express the terroir rather than follow some fashionable style, as we often see on the Tuscan coast. Run on the oenological side by Marco Tait, the estate is formed by three groups of vineyards located at different altitudes where you can find a collection of indigenous grapes (with the exception of Cabernet Franc).
Bianco di Ampeleia
The Bianco vines were regrafted using wood from an old neighbouring vineyard, choosing the most balanced and healthy plants. Now, Trebbiano, predominantly, shares the rows with Malvasia Bianca and Ansonica. The grapes were co-harvested at yields of 55hl/ha in mid-September and co-fermented in concrete vats, with 5-7 days contact with the skins. The brief maceration imparts a golden color, while savoriness and acidity dance together, accompanying the succession of tropical fruit, citrus, chamomile, and rosemary.

Rosato Ampeleia
Ampeleia's Rosato has a deep pink color and is characterized by a pronounced savory flavor accompanied by a distinct and persistent acidity. This is complemented by a good body, despite the low alcohol content, light tannins, and a pleasant fruity note.

Alicante
Alicante Nero is part of the "Monovarietali" project. The grapes are sourced from a single parcel called "Vigna della Pieve," with sandy soils rich in pebbles, planted to Alicante Nero, a crossing between Petit Bouchet and Grenache .
The wine is bold, pungent with intense flavours of olives, dried cherries, savoury herbs and liquorice. This is a pretty, mid-weight wine best suited to near-term drinking.

Cabernet Franc
The grapes are sourced from a single parcel called "Vigna all'Asina," This vineyard sits at 500 meters above sea level. Vinification is part carbonic (20% whole cluster) and the rest destemmed. Macerations lasted around 2 weeks.
Notes of slate and sage, with a medium to full body. Firm tannins and a fresh, bright finish. A beautiful example of Cabernet Franc.

Ampeleia Rosso has a deep colour and perfectly represents the harmonious union of the different Cabernet Franc parcels. It allows the Roccatederighi terroir to delicately express itself with its minerality, small berry fruits, balsamic notes, aromatic herbs, and spices: deep, with silky tannins.
