Sassara

Run by Alessia and Stefano Bertaiola, this 10 hectare estate outside Verona, 5 km south of Lake Garda, is a collection of small parcels on calcareous and iron-rich clay soils of morainic origin. Alessia, with a background in agricultural research and development, is only too aware of the amount of chemicals used in conventional viticulture, so she painstakingly converted each plot to organic and biodynamic farming over the last decade. The wines are contemporary, yet with an allure 'd'antan', and they are an utter joy to drink.

100% Pinot Grigio from Sassara! Beautiful authentic color of this variety. Spontaneous fermentation, contact with the skins, aging in a stainless steel tank. No filtration or added sulfur.

Rosso 'Esotico' 

Esotico is a red orange wine produced by Sassara Winery vinified with 30% red grapes Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara and 70% white grapes Garganega, Trebbianello, Tocai, Moscato, Fernanda. 10 days of maceration on skin in fiberglass tank. No filter, no suphite added, no added yeast and no chemical products.

This wine is super refreshing with notes of clementine, grapefruit and blood orange. A beautiful and unique expression of the Veneto hills!

This wine is ethereal and fresh, made in the “Ripasso” style, with the fermenting juice passed over the skins from a different wine. Crunchy, zesty and mineral with notes of blackberry and thyme.
