Gaël Petit
A rising star in the unfairly forgotten and somehow somnolent Tavel region, Gaël Petit -whose family has been linked to wine making in the region since the 16th century- crafts rosés of unparalleled complexity, class, depth and structure. Rejecting any shortcuts of modern enology, Gaël is using wild yeasts, whole cluster infusions and completed malolactic in order to express all the nuances of the unique Tavel terroir.
Since 2018, he started a micro cuvée selection of the best estate sites.
VdF ‘Fons Singularis’
Gaël Petit 's Fons Singularis from Moulin La Viguerie embodies the very soul of Tavel , where the limestone slopes impart a unique salinity and minerality to the grapes. Made from a small-scale production of Grenache Noir and Gris , Carignan , Syrah , and Aubun grapes grown on the estate's steepest plots, this cuvée is the result of blending the grape varieties as they leave the barrel. The result is a precise wine, where each grape variety expresses its typicity in a harmony that resonates with the limestone terroir of Tavel.

Tavel ‘Les Falaises de Braises’
Gaël Petit's "Les Falaises de Braise" cuvée from Moulin La Viguerie originates on the steep southern slopes of Tavel , where the soils blend limestone scree, sand, and light clay . From a blend of Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Bourboulenc, Clairette, and Cinsault , Gaël Petit crafts a wine that perfectly balances the sun-drenched character of the terroir with the refreshing influence of the Rhône . Vinification follows the "mille-feuille" method: layers of whole bunches, placed one on top of the other, alternated with must. The grapes ferment naturally and slowly, without excessive extraction or chemical or oenological additives. Gravity and patience dictate the pace, resulting in a clean, pure, and unadulterated aromatic profile.

Tavel ‘Postérté Soixante-Dix’
Cinsault, Syrah, and Grenache are the most widely planted grape varieties, cultivated on three distinct soil types: white limestone slabs, rolled quartz pebbles from the Rhône, and alluvial clay-sand soils. Producers frequently blend grapes from these different plots to benefit from their varying qualities. Made using the maceration method, Tavel wines exhibit a more intense profile than their Provençal counterparts. Their color is a clear, brilliant raspberry red. The clean aromatic profile initially reveals ripe red fruits and a touch of fresh almond, followed by licorice and tart red cherry. Round and luscious, these wines benefit from a preserved tension that makes for a crisp attack and a well-balanced whole. Unlike some other rosés, Tavel wines can benefit from a few years of cellaring.
