Redondel
Run by the philosophical yet tenacious Paolo Zanini, Redondèl are dedicated entirely to teroldego, the noble red grape of the Trentino region. The work is informed always by traditional methods, and Paolo gives his wines extended bottle ageing before release, resulting in the most complex, sumptuous teroldego we have ever tasted.
Teroldego Rotaliano 'Dannato'
Deeply coloured, with intense notes of dark plum, violet, liquorice and leather underscored by a slight herbaceous quality. The tannins are chewy but ripe, and teroldego's lifted acidity is the perfect foil for the powerful density of fruit.
Paolo's choice to give the wine extended ageing before release pays dividends here - the tertiary flavours add a gorgeous savoury note and the result is a wine with every component beautifully integrated.
